A group of students from the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Education (FED), led by Dr Barry Lee Reynolds and Dr Wang Yan, earlier visited New Zealand for a three-week teacher training programme. During their stay there, the 29 students served more than 70 hours of internships in public secondary and primary schools. Students feel the trip has enriched their learning experience and will benefit their English learning and teaching in the future. This is the 11th year the FED has organised the teacher training progamme, which usually includes a one-week intensive English teacher training programme at the University of Auckland, and internships in four local schools, with accommodation in local families. So far, more than 200 UM students have participated in the programme.
