The online application for the University of Macau 2010/2011 admission exam has started from 8 February 2010, application deadline on 3 March 2010. The admission exam will take place between 23 – 25 April 2010. Starting from this year, the University of Macau (UM) has introduced the "Preferential Admission Scheme" in order to encourage the enrollments of candidates with special talents, so as to further cultivate their abilities and talents.
 
UM has long been dedicated in the development of top students of various discipline. In addition to the principle admission standard with the admission exam, UM is also encouraging the enrollment of candidates of special talents so that they can continue to develop their ability at the University. This year, UM has started the implementation of “Preferential Admission Scheme”, targeting at candidates with outstanding performance and have won awards in the academic, sports and musical field. Candidates who are eligible in the corresponding category will be given extra credit marks on top of their admission exam grade after the review and examination by the University. Students who are interested in applying for the admission exam can register on the University’s registry website at http://www.umac.mo/reg and download the admission regulations. Those who are successful in submitting their online application will receive an email confirmation following the submission. On the other hand, the “Admission Exam Syllabuses” (including outlines, questions and answers of past admission exams from the last 2 years) has now been published. Candidates can purchase the syllabuses from the Macao Cultural Plaza or Livraria Portuguesa, borrow a copy from public libraries or download a free copy from the University’s registry website.
