Ms. Song Yan

Ms. Song Yan, a doctoral student from the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) of the University of Macau (UM), won the outstanding paper award at the 2009 National Doctoral Forum of China. This is the first time that UM students have been invited to attend this forum and won an award, which shows that UM students’ academic quality is highly recognized by experts, the Academic Degrees Committee, and the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education.

This year’s forum attracted more than 100 doctoral papers from major domestic universities, 25 of which were chosen by the organizers to be presented at the forum. Upon review of the organizers and the judge panel, ICMS doctoral student of Medicinal Administration Ms. Song Yan’s paper entitled “Strategy Research on Stock of Manpower in Public Drug Safety Emergency Management” which was completed under the supervision of Assistant Prof. Bian Ying won the outstanding paper award and received full funding from organizers.
 
Co-organized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, this year’s forum was held on Shandong University’s Bao Tu Quan campus from 25 Sept. to 27 Sept., with the theme being “Establishment of Contingency Mechanism for Unexpected Public Health Incidents”. This year’s conference attracted a great number of doctoral students from relevant fields of expertise (such as Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Administration, Social Sciences, etc.), renowned domestic and overseas scholars and experts, as well as postgraduate education professionals and management from universities.
 
A key part of China’s postgraduate education innovation programme, the National Doctoral Forum of China aims to provide a high-level, all-dimensional and wide-ranging platform for exchange and dissemination of information so as to broaden doctoral candidates’ horizons, bring their attention to practical issues, encourage them to assume social responsibilities, stimulate greater passion for research, and encourage innovation.
