The University of Macau (UM) recently held an international conference titled ‘North Korea Nuclear Crisis: Is There A Way Out?’. Organised by the Institute of Global and Public Affairs under UM’s Faculty of Social Sciences with assistance from the Korea-China Think Net, the event attracted more than 20 experts, scholars, and former government officials from the United States, South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. During the conference, the participants had an in-depth discussion on various topics, including North Korea’s nuclear and missile development, the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, the prospect of restarting the six-party talks, the international sanctions against North Korea, and the impact of the North Korean nuclear crisis on international relations in the area.
