The 23rd Summer Course of Portuguese Language and Culture, jointly held by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) and the Department of Portuguese, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSH), University of Macau (UM), will be concluded at the Cultural Centre of UM at 4:00pm tomorrow (25th).

This year nearly 260 students from Mainland China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Macao have joined the course.

To facilitate their learning, students were divided into 11 sections at four different levels: beginners, basic, intermediate and advanced. Lessons on translation and interpretation have been newly added into the curriculum to accommodate students’ learning demands.

Apart from regular language learning, students have had lots of opportunities to take part in cultural activities such as visiting museums and Macao historical heritage, and learning traditional Portuguese dances and paintings.

The closing ceremony will be held on 25 July (Friday) at 4:00pm at the Cultural Centre of the University of Macau, and students will demonstrate what they have learnt in the summer course. All are welcome to join.

The 23rd Summer Course of Portuguese Language and Culture has been held since 1986. Every year, it attracts the participation of many students from different Asian countries, acquiring Portuguese or improving their language skills.
