To cater for the development of Macao, in the coming academic year, the University of Macau (UM) will offer three new Master’s Degree Programmes to nurture talents in different disciplines.

UM will offer a total of 36 Master’s Degrees and 10 Postgraduate Certificate Programmes, among which there will be three new Master’s Degree Programmes initiated this year, namely, Master of Science in Finance; Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Human Development; and Master of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy.

The Master of Science in Finance aims to meet the need for more advanced level professionals in finance because of the development of the following industries: real estate, banking, insurance, gaming, etc., and to prepare students to take certification of their skills in the field such as Chartered Finance Analysis (CFA) or Certified Financial Planners (CFP). The programme will also equip students with knowledge of in-depth research capabilities and this will enhance their knowledge in finance theories and concepts to further their career development.

To meet the global development of early childhood education, the newly added Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Human Development demonstrates the Faculty’s commitment to this field. It is hoped that the programme will serve to enhance the professional level and research capability of the early childhood educators, and their understanding of the local children’s mental and physical development.

The Master of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy, in response to the demand of the society, is mainly to nurture talents in the areas of public administration and international relations, with focus on the studies of international relations and public policy.
