The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) recently invited two senior engineers from Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) to give talks to the students, as part of a series of science popularisation activities.

Mr. Billy Chan, senior manager of CEM’s Network Operations & Maintenance Department, and Mr. Benjamin Yue, senior manager of CEM’s Power and Networks Dispatch Department, shared their experience in work, study and life management. They also discussed the latest developments in smart-grid technologies and the ongoing construction projects in Macao, and answered the students’ questions about the engineering industry in Macao.

The department also invited teachers and students from two local secondary schools, namely Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, and Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School (Macau), to visit the new campus with the speakers.
