Recently twenty-five students and teachers of the University of Macau’s (UM) Pearl Jubilee College (PJC) went on a five-day trip to Taiwan. They first visited Tsing Hua University, where they were warmly received by the university’s Vice President Yeh Ming-Chuan and Prof. Juju Chin-shou Wang from Tsing Hua College. PJC members exchanged ideas with teachers and students from Tsing Hua College amid a relaxed atmosphere and learned about the latest developments of the residential colleges. Later PJC delegation visited Taipei to watch Taiwan’s first-ever “2-in-1” election. Participants said that the trip helped them learn first-hand about the characteristics of political elections in Taiwan and the platforms of different candidates, and also enhanced their understanding of and interest in political elections in other regions.
