Taiwan’s election in 2012 has attracted the attention of Chinese around the world. The competition among candidates from Kuomintang (KMT), the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), and the People First Party (PFP), namely Ma Ying-jeou, Tsai Ing-wen and James Soong Chu-yu, is at its climax. The result of the election will determine the trend of cross-strait relations in the coming four years. An academic forum on “The Prospects of Cross-Strait Relations after Taiwan’s Election” will be jointly held by Department of Government and Public Administration of University of Macau’s (UM) and Center for Security Studies of National Chengchi University in Taiwan right after the election, investigating the ups and downs of future cross-strait relations. A group of prominent scholars from mainland China and Taiwan will attend and speak at the forum. The forum will be held from 9:00 to 12:30 on 17 January 2012, in Room HG01, Ho Yin Convention Centre. All are welcome. For more information, please call 853-62190345, 853-83978301, or 853-63586080.
