Welcome

 

The Centre for Information & Communication Technology in Education (CICTE) was established in December 2001. The goal of CICTE is to promote research and development of information technology in education. In order to actively promote information technology education, the center will focus on work exchange, training, consulting and research. The center, through research, development, demonstration and practice, to explore how information technology effectively applied to teaching and learning in Macau. In addition, the center will actively explore the development trend of IT in education, so as to increase the ability of information technology education in Macau.

DSEJ Training Programme of Information Technology in Education 2014

 

The programme was first held in 2007. It aims at assisting schools in Macau to merge information technology into education through enhancing the skills of IT teachers in schools in Macau. Another aim of it is to equip in-service IT teachers who did not have teaching training with the related knowledge.The training has been completed in 2014 and the corresponding course certificate has been issued.

Information Technology Education Staff Training Course (Unit 4) - "Planning and Management of School Information Technology" Design and Report of Project Study was held in J210, Silver Jubilee Building, University of Macau, on 24 August 2013.

 

The 4th International Cognitive Load Theory Conference

 

The 4th International Cognitive Load Theory Conference 2010 was organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Education and University of Macau, was held in November 22 - 25, 2010. Cognitive Load Theory originated in the 1980s, in the 1990s by researchers substantive development and expansion around the world. Now the research and instructional design theory has also been a corresponding development. Cognitive Load Theory has covered increasingly diverse research topics and direction in recent years, the relevant theories from different areas have been developed. The meeting for the Asia-Pacific region and other educators and researchers is a rare opportunity. At the meeting, they can share their latest research in the field of cognitive load theory discovery and insights.

 

2010 DSEJ Training Programme of Information Technology in Education

 

The programme was first held in 2007-2008. It aims at assisting schools in Macau to merge information technology into education through enhancing the skills of IT teachers in schools in Macau. Workshop on Integrating Information Technology into Secondary Mathematics Teaching

 

A workshop on Integrating Information Technology in Secondary Mathematics Teaching was arranged by Faculty of Education on Nov. 14, 2009 at Room L105. Six renowned scholars in the field from the Mainland and Taiwan were invited. The speakers were Prof. Zhang Jing Zhong, Fellow of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, Prof. Chan Ming Jang, Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, Prof. Jiao Jian Li from South China Normal University, Guangzhou, China, Mr. Wang Peng Yuan from the Affiliated High School of Peking University, Beijing, China, Mr. Lee Cheng Feng from Chunan Senior High School, Taiwan, and Mr. Yen Yi Long from Experimental High School at HsinChu Science Park, Taiwan.

There were intensive workshop activities. Scholars and experts explored into the cutting-edge theory in the field of integrating information technology into math teaching in the morning, and several experienced teachers from well-known schools gave demo classes in the afternoon. Prof. Zhang Jing Zhong gave a report entitled "Reflection on the Practice of Applying Dynamic Mathematical Software into Math", Prof. Chan Ming Jang reported "Integrating Information Technology into Math Teaching in the View of Directing Attention", and Prof. Jiao Jian Li lectured on "Solving Problem by Using Technology: Cases and Resources on Integrating Information Technology into Math Teaching in Mainland". In the afternoon, Mr. Wang Peng Yuan demonstrated an interesting revision lesson for College Entrance Exam supported by Computer by using super sketchpad, Mr. Lee Cheng Feng made a presentation on "Statistics Combined GeoGebra and Excel/VBA" for Senior High School Students, and Mr. Yen Yi Long showed a lively class on "Move! Move! Interesting Geometry--- Integrated Information Technology into Math Teaching".

During the Q&A section towards the end of the workshop, many teachers and students from primary and secondary schools in Macao raised questions and discussed matters of common interest with the scholars, experts present.
