    English Proficiency Requirements for Academic Year 2017/2018

    Beside UM's English Proficiency Requirements (refer to item i) and ii)), CET6 score of 430 or above is accepted


    i) Applicants who received their Bachelor's/Master's degree from a university where the medium of instruction was not English are required to provide any of the following as proof of English proficiency:

    -Obtained a TOEFL* score of 550 (paper-based examination) / 80 (internet-based examination) or,

    -An IELTS* score of 6.0 or above with no sub-score lower than 5.5

    *note: TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for 2 years from the test date.

     

    ii) Applicants who received their Bachelor's/Master's degree from a university where the medium of instruction was English are required to provide a proof of English as the medium of instruction, if deemed necessary, issued by the applicants' university where their Bachelor's/Master's degree was obtained (UM's current students and graduates are not required to provide such proof).

    Since the establishment of the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, ICMS/SKL has devoted itself to promoting the research of Chinese medicine and nurturing of local talents in the interdisciplinary fields of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. ICMS/SKL currently offers the PhD degree programme in Biomedical Sciences, Master of Science degree programmes in Chinese Medicinal Science and Medicinal Administration and Bachelor of Science degree programme in Biomedical Sciences. With 29 faculty members recruited from top institutions worldwide (among them are including Cambridge, Harvard, Yale and, Stanford, among and others), ICMS/SKL promises to build up an international hub for scientific training and technology transfer, and ultimately to position Macau as a dynamic hub of drug development in the region and beyond.
