Point to note on the Loss of “Two-way Exit Permit”

When your “Two-way Exit Permit” is missing, please do the following procedures for re-applying a new one.

1. Report missing case to the Customs & Police Building in UM campus and get a loss memo.

2. Apply a testimonial for reporting the missing “Two-way Exit Permit”.

3. Apply a report notice of at Immigration Department Office Building (Travessa Um do Cais de Pac On, Taipa, Macao)

Then, go to China Travel Service (Macao) Ltd. (Avenida do Dr.Rodrigo Rodrigues,Nam Kwong Building,12/F, Macau) with the following documents:

1. P.R.C. identity card (original and a copy)

2. A copy of the “Two-way Exit Permit”

3. Two photos of blue background with vaild acknowledgement of digital photos

The procedure might take about a month, please inform Student Resources Section when you have your new “Two-way Exit Permit”, then we will arrange the application of "Special Authorization to Stay".

Two-way Exit Permit; Type D – Stay

Students from Mainland China can apply their visa documents in Public Security Bureau of their Registered Residence by the admission notice. For any Mainland China student who studies in Macau, the following documents should be required:

           (1). “Two-way Exit Permit”

         (2). “Type D – Stay”

Mainland China citizens holding the “Two-way Exit Permit” who could not finish the course within the stay period, can apply for a new “Two-way Exit Permit” and “Type D – Stay”.

Hong Kong Visa

Mainland China citizens with a valid “Two-way Exit Permit” who travels to Hong Kong for any exchange activities, can apply one or two times visa to enter Hong Kong, with staying period of 14 days per entry.

What's a “Special Authorization to Stay”?

According to the Law of Macau, all non-local students (except Hong Kong SAR Resident) studying at Macau's tertiary education institutions have to apply for the “Special Authorization to Stay” (Student Visa). The “Special Authorization to Stay” is valid for 1 year and has to be renewed every academic year. Student Resources Section (SRS) will arrange for the first time application of all freshmen and exchange students.

The Importance of Application for “Special Authorization to Stay”

In accordance with the Macao Law, all non-local students must obtain the “Special Authorization to Stay”. Failing to comply with this requirement will result in violation of the law and a serious consequence. We would like to remind you to go to the Immigration Department immediately to apply for the “Special Authorization to Stay” if you have not yet done so.

Application Procedures

You should follow the listed procedure for applying the “Special Authorization to Stay”:

  • Student Resources and Service Section will collect the photocopies of your passport during registration;
  • SAO will then arrange for group application, please visit the UM E-bulletin for the update announcement;
  • The following documents are required for “Special Authorization to Stay” application:
(For Mainland China students ONLY)
    • a. Original "Two-way Exit Permit" for travelling to and from HK and Macau
    • b. . Copy of both sides of card style "Two-way Exit Permit" for travelling to and from HK and Macau,
      •  For book style permit, a copy of
      • --  page of personal data
      • --  page with the updated "Type D – Stay"
    • c. Original and Copy of the newest "Slip of Authorization to Stay" (Small paper given on arrival)
    • d. Filled Application form for “Special Authorization to Stay” (provided by the Macao Immigration Department).
    • e. One 1.5 inch sized photos of white background

     

Renewal Procedures

Since your “Special Authorization to Stay” is valid for one year only, you will have to apply for extension prior to the expiration date of the Authorization if you are continuing your studies at UM. Application for the “Special Authorization to Stay” extension should be made to the Macao Immigration Department with the following procedures:

  • Student Resources and Service Section will announce the renewal date and procedure at the UM E-bulletin;
  • The following documents are required for stay permit renewal:
(For Mainland China students ONLY)
    • a. Original "Two-way Exit Permit" for travelling to and from HK and Macau
    • b. Copy of both sides of card style "Two-way Exit Permit" for travelling to and from HK and Macau,
      • For book style permit, a copy of
      • --  page of personal data
      • --  page with the updated "Type D – Stay"
    • c. Original and copy of "Slip of Authorization to Stay" / "Stamp of Authorization to Stay (if no slip was received)
    • d. Filled Application form for “Special Authorization to Stay” (provided by the Macao Immigration Department).
