16 students from the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Education (FED), led by visiting professor Ieong Sao Leng, earlier visited New Zealand for a three-week teacher training programme. During their stay there, the students served more than 70 hours of internships in public secondary and primary schools. Students believed that the trip enriched their learning experience and would benefit their English learning and teaching in the future. This is the tenth year the FED has organised the teacher training progamme, which usually inlcudes a one-week intensive English teacher training programme at the University of Auckland, internships in four local schools, and staying in local families. So far more than 200 students have participated in the programme.
