A friendly welcome to each and everyone who visits the web pages of the Department of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Macau.Our department features a vibrant and talented community of scholars from around the globe offering excellent teaching, conducting exciting research, and providing dedicated service to various communities.Over the past three years and under the dynamic leadership of our former head of department, Professor Rik Carl D¡¦Amato, we have grown into a fully-fledged department offering both undergraduate and graduate training and excelling in every aspect of teaching and research.New faculty are also continuously added, and we welcome Assistant Professor Dr Lisbeth Ku and Administrative Assistant Ms Anita Fu who joined our team in September 2011. Ms Xaviera Chong also joined us in the admin office in December 2011.
Starting in 2002 with a small contingent of dedicated faculty and an undergraduate programme in psychology, we have grown exponentially and now also offer a Master¡¦s programme in Clinical Psychology as well as a PhD programme in Psychology.With the expertise of our talented faculty, we provide outstanding instruction and students and faculty alike join the international community of scholars through continuous debate and scholarship.The undergraduate programme will also undergo external review for academic quality assurance, and we are proud to showcase the excellent achievements of our students and faculty in this manner.
Furthermore, we are already planning for further expansion and providing services to the local public through our Psychological Services and Research Centre.The following two years will see the rapid development of the new campus of the University of Macau on Henqin, and we will be planning for the move to our new headquarters in 2013.Amidst all the new developments, we aim to be leaders in the field of psychology in the region and invite you to consider the many opportunities that our community, the university and the department have to offer!
