A delegation formed by representatives of eight higher education institutions in Macao, led by University of Macau (UM) Rector Yonghua Song, recently visited Sichuan province and met with senior officials of Sichuan government and the provincial education department. Both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration in academic exchange, student exchange, scientific research, and talent development between Macao and Sichuan. The delegation also visited Sichuan University and Southwest Jiaotong University, where Rector Song signed collaboration agreements with the two universities on behalf of UM.

The eight institutions that participated in the trip included UM, Macao Polytechnic Institute, the Institute for Tourism Studies, the City University of Macau, the University of Saint Joseph, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, the Macau University of Science and Technology, and the Macau Institute of Management.
