UM wins top two prizes at Macao-wide English Speech Contest

Three members of the University of Macau (UM) English Public Speaking Team recently won five prizes in the university category at the 16th Macao-wide English Speech Contest and the 23rd ‘21st century Cup’ National English Speaking Competition Macao Regional Contest. Lau Kak Chi, a first-year student from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and a member of Shiu Pong College, won the championship and the Best Impromptu Speaker Award. Wong Weng Lam, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Education, who is also a member of the Honours College and the Stanley Ho East Asia College, won the second prize and the Best Manner Award. Liang Xiaojing, a second-year student from the Faculty of Social Sciences and a member of Shiu Pong College, won a merit award.
