Prof Otto Lin, former president of the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan and former vice president (research and development) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, today (24 February) gave a lecture at UM, as part of the University Lecture Series and the Collegiate Learning Day. In the lecture, titled ‘Soft Power and Business Competitiveness: From Laozi to Innovation’, Prof Lin discussed hard power, soft power, and the importance of soft power in product design and business competitiveness, from the perspective of Laozi’s philosophy.
