The faculty members of the University of Macau’s (UM) Department of Chinese Language and Literature hold important positions in many local academic organisations, including the Chinese Culture Development Promotion Association of Macao, the Macau Association of Literary and Artistic Critics, Macau Yue Dialect Association, Macao Linguistic Club, and Macao Chinese Comparative Literature Association. The scholars have also created many academic publications, including the Macao Journal of Linguistics, and organised many important academic conferences, which played a positive role in promoting the Chinese language and literature and academic exchange between Macao and the rest of the world.
