(25 September 2006, Macao) The Distinguished Diplomatic & Consular Speaker Series 2006, organized by the University of Macau (UM), will take place on 28 September (Thursday). Mr. Cho Whan Bok, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, has been invited to give a speech on the topic: “For a Permanent Peace on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia: Beyond the Nuclear Challenge and the Cold War”. The speech will be held, at 3:00 p.m., in Room L105 of Luso-Chinese Building of UM.

Mr. Cho Whan Bok is the Consul General of the Republic of Korea. His foreign service career spans more than 31 years and has been posted in such a diverse countries as Switzerland, Bolivia, France, Mexico, Canada, China and Kenya. He studied in Seoul National University and European Institute at the Amsterdam University. He has represented Korea in numerous international negotiations, in particular, in the areas of trade, environment and development issues.
