The Faculty of Law (FLL) of the University of Macau (UM), through the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (IEJAva), and the Centre for Law Studies (CLS), will host a ceremony this afternoon (22nd) at 6PM, in the STDM Auditorium of the University of Macau Library, to launch two new publications in Portuguese, namely, «Código de Processo Civil Anotado e Comentado» (Macau Code of Civil Law Annotated and Commented) and «Repertório do Direito de Macau» (Repertoire of Macau Law).

These two publications are particularly meaningful to Macau’s juridical community.

The book, «Código de Processo Civil Anotado e Comentado» (Macau Code of Civil Law Annotated and Commented), is the first volume of the publication, authored jointly by two illustrious jurists with different professions. They are Dr. Viriato Lima, Judge of the Supreme Court of Macao, known for his profound juridical knowledge and professional rigor, and Prof. Cândida Pires, Part-time Associate Professor of FLL, who has dedicated herself to the teaching and research on Civil Procedure Law for several decades.

The book, «Repertório do Direito de Macau» (Repertoire of Macau Law), takes on a synthesis formula, a summary and a report of Macau Law, with the purpose of characterizing Macau’s juridical system as a whole, in a brief presentation by themes, as an ensemble. It is a collective work of academics of FLL.

IEJAva and the CLS will give away free copies of both publications to all guest attendees.

Remark: 250 copies of each book will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
