The book Analog-Baseband Architectures and Circuits: For Multistandard and Low-Voltage Wireless Transceivers, co-authored by Dr. Elvis Mak Pui In, Invited Research Fellow, Prof. Ben U, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Macau (UM) and Prof. Rui Martins, Vice Rector of UM , was published this month by Springer, the world’s second-largest publisher in STM (Science, Technology, and Medicine) and is available for sale worldwide, bringing UM’s outstanding technological achievements to the international academic world. One of the chapters of the book has become one of the 100 most frequently downloaded articles this month in IEEE Xplore, which shows that UM’s research capabilities have become more widely acknowledged by the international academic world.

The book Analog-Baseband Architectures and Circuits: For Multistandard and Low-Voltage Wireless Transceivers has recorded more than 20 original articles related to the design of state-of-the-art wireless transceivers, which are highly innovative and valuable in the field of microelectronics and have been presented in important international academic journals and conferences. Mak Pui In has said that the most important new technology mentioned in the book is the building of wireless transceivers into multistandard products, which require low energy and are highly efficient.

In addition, one paper included in the book, which is titled “Transceiver Architecture Selection: Review, State-of-the-Art Survey and Case Study”, has reviewed for the first time the developmental process of wireless transceivers in recent years. It has made meticulous analysis of the recent trends in the field and has included various case studies, which are highly informative and will prove a valuable reference. The paper has been published by the widely respected Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in its academic journal IEEE Circuits and Systems Magazine in June this year. Among the 1,600,000 articles in IEEE Xplore database hosted by the journal, the paper has stood out as one of the 100 most frequently downloaded articles this month, which shows that UM’s research capabilities have become more widely acknowledged by the international academic world.

UM has worked on technological studies in the microelectronics field for more than 10 years, yielding fruitful results that have reached an international level. The fact that this recent work has been published by an authoritative publisher and is available for sale worldwide has once again proved UM’s technological achievements in microelectronics.
