As invited by the University of Macau (UM), Former Minister for Foreign Affairs Professor Li Xiaoxing is going to host a Talk for the Conferment of Degrees of Doctor honoris causa about “Peaceful Development and the Role of China in a Changing World” at the Cultural Centre of UM at 5:00pm tomorrow (10th). The talk will be conducted in Mandarin.

Professor Li Zhaoxing has served various important positions such as Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador to the United States, and Minister for Foreign Affairs. At present, he is the Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the National People’s Congress, Honorary President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, President of China International Friendship Association, and Dean and Professor of Zhou Enlai School of Government in Nankai University. Professor Li has huge contributions to the expansion and the development of the country’s diplomatic affairs.

Before the talk, the University of Macau will hold the Ceremony for the Conferment of Degrees of Doctor of Humanities honoris causa on Professor Li Zhaoxing, Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa on Professor William Richard Eadington, Doctor of Letters honoris causa on Dr. Henrique Rodrigues de Senna Fernandes, and Doctor of Science honoris causa on Professor Alfred Yiu Fai Wong, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to cultural education, academic research and the development of society.
