Wang Sheng Peng, a PhD student from the University of Macau’s (UM) Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), recently received the China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award, from the China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award Fund. Wang was the only university student from Macao to receive the award.

Every year, the China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award Fund awards 100 students selected nationwide to recognise their excellence in different areas, including academic studies, science and technology competitions, and commercialisation of research results.

The ICMS attaches great importance to developing students’ creativity. Over the years, ICMS faculty members and students have won numerous awards at local, national, and international levels, including more than 20 international conference awards, first prize at the “Challenge Cup” National Intervarsity Science and Technology Competition (three times), and 16 Scientific and Technological R&D Awards for Postgraduates.
