The fourth International Conference on “The Legal Reforms of Macau in Global Context – Social Right and Environmental Protection”, organized by the Centre for Law Studies of the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Law (FLL), will be held on 1 December and 2 December 2011, in Room HG 03, Ho Yin Convention Centre, UM. The conference will deal with a wide range of topics, including the challenges of environmental protection, land use planning and urbanization, social rights and environmental protection. Approximately twenty scholars and experts from mainland China, Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique and Macao will attend the conference.

Attendees will include scholars from Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, Wuhan University, Shenzhen University, the University of Coimbra, the University of Porto, the University of Lisbon, the University of S. Paulo, the University of Itaúna, the University of Eduardo Mondlane, and the University of Macau; and experts from the Macao SAR government. They will present papers about the current situation of social right and environmental protection in different countries.

Simultaneous interpretation between Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and Portuguese will be available. The first day of the conference will last from 9:00 to 19:30, and the second day from 9:30 to 19:00. All are welcome.
