15.01.2010
To attract top quality local students, the University of Macau offers annually direct admission to top 10% students recommended by principals of Macao high schools through a “Recommended Direct Admission Scheme”. The Registry of UM held a briefing session on this scheme to the interested high school graduates to be at the Cultural Centre of UM on 14 January 2009.
In the session, the application procedure of the scheme, the learning environment of the university and the available programmes for the students to choose from were introduced by representatives of the university and faculties. Since the Honours College aims to bring together high achieving undergraduates at UM together and nurture them into future leaders for Macao and beyond, this high school student group is the potential candidates for future HC recruitment. Dean MOK together with HC student ZHOU ZiTao went to the session and introduced to them the college and its unique programme. During their presentation, ZHOU shared her recent experience and memorable moments at the HC so far. She also told the students about the opportunities that the Honours College offers to her, and how she learns to involve and make contribution to the community. At last, she advised the students on how to prepare themselves for the college and encouraged them to come to experience the Honours College, where creation of knowledge is lived and leaders of the future are fostered.
