Roles and Functions
GAO is charged with the following roles and functions:
- Assist Rector and Vice Rectors in identifying and establishing collaboration with strategic academic partners for the University
- Assist Rector and Vice Rectors in conceptualizing, planning, and executing specific international activity to pursue the aim and objective of the internationalization of the University
- Act as interface with international associations, affiliations, non-local universities, and external organizations in maintaining relations and collaborations with the University
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from individuals and institutions at overseas, Mainland China, and Hong Kong that are interested in academic collaboration
- Act as focal contact unit for external organizations and academic institutions, official foreign representatives, consulates-general and embassies in conducting courtesy visits or joint activities at the University
- Act as hosting office of international programmes, fellowship, and visitorship administered at university level
- Coordinate outgoing official visits and international and regional working trips for senior management members at university level
- Act as advisory unit of academic agreements signed at university level and maintain archive of these agreements in an accessible database format
- Promote mobility of staff and students
- Provide source and support of international opportunities
