2.         Researcher,  Macao’s Economic and Financial Integration with the Pearl River Delta, 2009, A local project sponsored by the Macao government and organized by Prof. Keith Lam from FBA, University of Macau.

3.         Participant,  Resource Exploration and Economic Development in the Yangtze River Basin, 1990, China’s Central Government Level-A Project for the National “8th Five-Year Plan”. See a news report on this event and my opinion in “China Daily” (March 29, 1990)

4.         Participant,  Socioeconomic Development in Wuxi City, China, 1986-1988, This 3-year international project was sponsored and organized by the United Nations’ Center for Regional Development (located in Japan). Other Nanjing Univ Professors (such as Shen Shicheng) participated in this project as well.

5.         Researcher,  The Statistical Assessment of China’s R & D Activities, 1989, This project was sponsored by the National Sciences Commission under China’s State Council and organized by Nanjing’s Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Another Nanjing University Professor (Shi Jianjun) also joined this project.

6.         Chief Researcher,  The Economic Impacts of R & D Activities by Large and Medium-size Firms in Jiangsu Province, 1987. This project was financially supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Government’s Sciences Commission and joined by Nanjing University Professor Yao Cheng.

7.         Chief Researcher,  Application of Input-output Techniques to Nanjing Middle-& Long-term Economic Planning, 1989. This project is funded by Nanjing municipal Government’s Sciences Commission and joined by Kong Lingwen, Director of the Nanjing City Bureau of Statistics.

8.         Chief Researcher,  The Economic Development Strategies in Large River Basins with Focus on the Yangtze Area, 1987. This project received financial aid from the Nanjing University Social Sciences Foundation for Young Scholars. The joint researcher, Dr. Gu Caolin, now works at Tshinghua University as a chair professor.
