ABOUT THE ACT TEST
The ACT® test assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
- The multiple-choice tests cover four skill areas: English, Mathematics, reading, and science
- The Writing Test, which is optional, measures skill in planning and writing a short essay
REGISTRATION
-
All students testing outside of the United States, U.S. territories, Puerto Rico, or Canada must register on the Web. There are no international registration packets. You must establish a free student Web account in order to register. After providing the information requested to create the account, click the "Register to Test" link on http://www.actstudent.org/regist/intldates.html and follow the instructions on the Web screen to complete your registration. Payment must be made by valid American Express, DISCOVER, MasterCard or VISA credit cards.
- Your ACT Web account also gives you access to the following services:
- Make changes to your registration such as Test Option, Test Date, or Test Centre changes (if you do so before the registration deadline for the test date).
- View your scores at no charge before you receive your official score report in the mail.
- Add, change, or cancel the universities where you want ACT to send your score reports (if you do so before the test date).
- Send your scores to additional universities after you test by requesting Additional Score Reports.
- Receive e-mail updates from ACT.
- You can change the Test Center for the same test date if there are seats and materials available for your test option at your preferred test centre. If so, you will be assigned there and charged a Test Centre Change fee of USD20.00.
-
To change your test option from ACT Plus Writing to ACT (No Writing) or the other way around, log in your student Web account or call ACT Registration at +1-319 337-1270 by the late registration deadline for your test date to request the change. Fee adjustments depend on whether you are adding or removing the Writing Test and whether other services are required to find you a seat (e.g. a Test Centre Change).
- If you need to make any informational changes (such as your mailing address), log in to your student Web account and select "Make changes to your registration"" or call +1 319 337-1270.
