Discussion with Jessica
Gardner, Angie Chong & Elizabeth Neely, ELC Teaching Fellows Teaching
Fellows Jess, Angie, and Beth will talk about their experiences living in the
U.S.A. and compare the states from which they come, California (Angie),
Minnesota (Jess), and Georgia (Beth). Come learn more about what life is like
in the U.S. They will talk about food, culture, fashion, landscape, popular
activities, slang, famous people and landmarks. Cast your vote to decide
which state is the best! |

Quiz Off! hosted by Phil Cozens (Challenge and compete with ELC instructors Alice Lee, Teresa Lam,
Elizabeth Neely and more!) Do you know a lot of
unimportant information? If you do, you should come and compete against ELC
instructors to see who knows more unimportant information. This is your
chance to win against ELC instructors! Instructors answer questions written
by students. Students answer questions written by instructors. Ten questions
will be chosen as “prize” questions. |

Language Learning Workshop with Janice Tibbetts
& Monica Lau, ELC Instructors Topic: What’s the Connection? This workshop will show
you a new way of looking at language learning. You will discover the secrets
of lexical ‘chunking’ in a fun, competitive game. Once you learn about lexis,
fixed and semi-fixed expressions, collocations and other language chunks, you
will find that it helps you to improve your listening, vocabulary, grammar,
writing and speaking skills. |

If you answered yes to all three questions, then this event is for you! The
hunt begins at 11:30 at the ELC. Point your smart phone at the first QR code
we give you, solve that puzzle to get information on where to go next. |
