The University of Macau 10-Year Development Strategy establishes relevant development goals, strategies and work-plan frameworks for the coming 10 years based on the vision, values and missions of the University. Based on this Strategy, the University further developed its 5-Year Plan which breaks the established goals down into concrete strategies and plans with the purpose of improving the University's competitiveness and ensuring continuous development as well as accomplishment of established goals. With the support of all staff, the University successfully passed the ISO 14000 certification in the 2007/2008 academic year, becoming the first local institution of higher education to pass both the ISO 9000 Quality Management System certification and the ISO 14000 Environmental Management System certification. As a member of the Asia-Pacific Network on Healthy Universities, the University will endeavor to promote the idea of a healthy lifestyle throughout the University and the community and strive to build a green campus. The University has organized several training programmes for staff to increase their knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. In addition, the University continues to step up efforts in occupational health and safety (OHS) as well as environmental protection by enhancing staff's awareness of OHS and sustainable development as well as implementing relevant measures. The University will continue to devote unreserved efforts to building an eco-friendly, green, safe and healthy campus. |
